WHAT'S BLOOMING?
See what's growing on the farm. A month by month directory of what you'll find throughout the year.
FLOWERS BY MONTH
If you're planning an event and want to know what's going to be in bloom, take a look at below. I have created a month by month calendar highlighting what you'll find growing on the farm through the season. This guide is completely dependent on our spring weather. Spring 2022 was the coldest and wettest on record which pushed the bloom times of the flowers back almost an entire month! So please keep that in mind as you make your floral plans.
APRIL
April brings an abundance of Tulips, Daffodils, Ranunculus & Anemone. Keep in mind, their bloom schedule is completely weather dependent. Bright sunny warm springs brings earlier blooms, while cooler rain weather pushes their bloom time a few weeks later.
MAY
The most romantic month as the Sweet Peas, Peony's, Stock, Iris, Hyacinth, Larkspur begin to flourish later this month to compliment the Ranunculus & Anemone which are now in full bloom. The variety of flowers in the field grows by the week.
JUNE
The previous flowers of May are now accompanied by the sweet scented Lilies and Roses. Lots of filler like Bells of Ireland, Bunny tail, Yarrow, and Cress have matured to peak perfection and are ready for harvest. The Strawflower & Snapdragons will be blooming this month too!
JULY
The month we've all been waiting for, the Dahlias have started to arrive! Along with the cosmos, snapdragons, zinnia, and sunflowers, hundreds of dahlias will have taken over the field by the end of the month. The dahlia field will grow over 1,000 dahlias in a rainbow of colors.
AUGUST
If you thought last month was gorgeous-let me introduce you to my favorite month on the farm! Color in every corner of the field, the dahlias are blossoming at incredible rates. The sunflowers have popped, the rest of the long awaited annuals like Lisianthus and Sea Holly are finally ready to harvest too.
SEPTEMBER
Sunflowers have taken over the field as the final month of our growing season arrives. The zinnia, celosia, and eucalyptus are growing happily in the heat of the summer. The mums and asters are a fun addition to bouquets , while a second succession of strawflower and snapdragons are back to show off.
